STATE OF THE UNION 2011: Obama Lays Out a Bold Course for Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah…
Wednesday, January 26th, 2011
(WASHINGTON) —Under great anticipation and a new Republican Congress, President Obama came out swinging in his State of the Union speech Tuesday night, boldly outlining his plans for blah blah blah, blah blah blah, and blah.
The President stunned both sides of the isle as he struck a more conciliatory tone to the new GOP controlled House of Representatives, stating at one point, “I understand November’s elections were a blah blah blah blah. But that blah blah blah blah does not mean we can’t blah blah blah blah blah differences. Blah blah.”
“We need to spend more in blah blah blah blah blah and more in blah blah and blah, leaving blah blah blah for our children to blah blah blah,” Obama declared, addressing much needed cuts in blah blah blah Republicans have been demanding. “Also, blah blah blah blah blah Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, blah blah blah healthcare blah blah.”
“It’s not our blah blah blah, but our blah blah and BLAH!” the President continued, receiving great applause from a packed House chamber.
One of Obama’s greatest moments was when he tackled the issue of the slumping housing market, demanding robustly, “Blah..! Blah blah! Blah and blah! Reinvestment blah blah blah, and hope blah blah blah blah working families blah blah blah blah blah.”
Added the President, “Blah blah! Change.”
The President was also quick to address the stagnant jobless rate in America, growing nearly confrontational as he challenged the GOP to “blah blah blah…bl…blah blah your own districts, and help blah blah blah blah blah economy…blah blah.”
News and cable networks were ecstatic after Obama’s address, with pundits and analysts quick to proclaim this State of the Union speech an overwhelming success. CNN’s Candy Crowley said she was particularly struck by the President’s line of “Blah blah blah blah, and blah blah.”
“When a president speaks in front of an opposing party that controls Congress, there will certainly be concessions, and copious amounts of blah blah blah,” said Crowley. “But not this time; not with Obama saying ‘Blah, blah blah, and b-b-blah, ba-ba-blah blah spending blah blah…relief blah blah blah middle-class blah blah blah.’”
“I particularly was struck by the part where he stated, ‘B-b- blah, America can no longer afford the partisanship that blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.’” said CNN anchor John King.
In the Fox News studio, post-speech analysts were also shocked by a seemingly moderating but resilient president; one who respected the outcomes of the mid-term elections, but also wanted to concede only so far before having to blah blah blah blah blah blah. And blah.
“I was amazed at (Obama’s) reassurance of his commitment to blah blah and blah BLAH,” said Fox News analyst Juan Williams Tuesday night. “I just wonder how ‘blah blah blah’ will be received in the international community…Just like on the campaign trail, Obama had each one of his ‘blahs’ precisely timed, directed, and wasn’t pulling any punches.”
Reviewing clips of previous State of the Union addresses, CNN analysts made clear distinctions between the Obama of 2009 and the Obama of last night.
“Look at 2009,” said RedState.com’s Editor-in-Chief Erick Erickson of on CNN. “In 2009, speaking about TARP, Obama said, and I quote: ‘We must blah blah the blah blah blah, but never blah blah. Blah blah. Unfair to blah blah blah blah the needy. Blah blah corporate titans blah blah blah!’ …This proves my point, Candy! These ‘blahs’ tonight were totally different than the ‘blahs’ two years ago. The transformation of this president is amazing!”
Added Erickson, “With blah blah blahs like we heard tonight, the President has recast himself as a new blah blah blah blah blah, ready to take on blah blah and more blah blah blah blah blah.”
Newly sworn Republican leaders were not as apt to give the President blah blah blah for his speech. When asked her reaction after Obama’s address, freshman Congresswoman Diane Black (R-TN) commented to reporters, “Mr. Obama can blah blah blah for innovation and green energy
all he wants, but blah blah blah… His compromises on the health care overhaul still blah blah blah blah, and does nothing to reduce blah blah blah bu-bu-bla-blah.”
Giving the Republican rebuttal to the President Obama, Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan congratulated the President on –as many expected– a more moderate tone, but warned that blah blah blah blah blah blah.
“Blah blah blah blah,” said Ryan, “And blah blah. Our nation cannot sustain our skyrocketing blah blah blah blah. American still blah blah blah blah and want honest blah blah, not the same, tired, old blah blah blah blah blah blah.”
President Obama now embarks on the traditional post-State of the Union tour of the U.S., where he will stump for his new blah blah blah blah. But according Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), Obama has his work more than cut out for him.
Said Paul to Reuters Wednesday, “Let me just say that I’ve never supported marijuana use. But after last night’s speech, I think I’ve changed my mind. And so, blah blah blah blah…”.
